It’s an incredibly hot summer, so stay inside and cool down with some banger VGM on Virtua Ongaku 17, which you can see for free on our Twitch channel! Expect a fun evening of video game music and other nerdy jams. We are accepting donations throughout the show that will go toward paying our performers and those donations will also enter you into our prize raffle at the end of the show.

Musical Lineup

Theology

Theology is a DJ and Producer that makes club-ready video game remixes and is also a Mental Health activist. His live DJ sets utilize the nostalgic power of VGM to communicate an encouraging message of positivity through the music AND the visuals. During his sets, Theology types uplifting messages to the crowd that are based on the songs he’s playing. “If people don’t ever hear encouragement in their lives, I want them to at least hear it from me.”

Theology also hosts a monthly podcast called “The Music and Mental Health Podcast” a monthly series called “What Video Games Taught Me about Mental Health,” where Theology breaks down an impactful storyline in a video game and talk about mental health.

                    

Bi Score

Ian and Carrie’s Bi-Coastal Goblin Brigade That Makes Music to Score to, otherwise known as BI SCORE, is VGM’s most annoying power couple. Consisting of California-born Ian Cowell and Maryland native Carrie Wood, this duo is here to lay down the tastiest riffs for you to take home to your sweetheart. Make sure your next score is a hi-score with Bi Score!

          

EyeQ

EyeQ is an indie hip-hop artist, visionary, and emcee whose musical sights are set on merging his wide assortment of musical influences and loves into one powerhouse performance. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, and now a nationally touring emcee based in Florida. EyeQ has rocked stages with numerous prominent touring acts from all around the country. His “Attack on Titan” themed album Titled “Walls of Maria” was endorsed by Funimation and the official “Attack on Titan” page.

                

Gunderslam

Raised by Video Games, Inspired by Metal! Solo artist Gunderslam is a metal instrumental guitarist and producer from Milwaukee WI. Covering games franchises such as Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and Hollow Knight, he blends the original compositions with original heavy metal influences to transform these into heavy metal slams. Since his first upload on YouTube, Gunderslam has progressed to performing live solo, and as a band! Catch him live streaming or at a convention near you!

                  

Doug Perry

Doug Perry is an internationally-renowned percussionist, composer, and educator. His technical skill and passion for performing new works transcends disciplines, making him a sought-after performer in the worlds of new music and video game scoring. Featured soloist performances include the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, and the Neue Eutiner Festspiele Orchestra. Doug frequently records and produces music for video games and film; he was featured as a soloist in the scores to Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and Sid Meyer’s Civilization VI, and can be heard in such titles as Mortal Kombat 11, Celeste, and Guild Wars 2. Doug is currently on music faculty at Western Connecticut State University, where he teaches multiple music courses,

Prize Raffle

There will be a raffle around 10:30pm EST, after the final act. There will be at least five (5) drawings and each of those winners will be contacted by us. Prizes will include albums from the Bandcamps of the Virtua Ongaku 17 acts and more. Every $5 donated to the stream will be an entry into the raffle. So if someone donates $25, that will be FIVE raffle entries! These donations will go toward paying the performers.
