 RSVP

On June 11th, Ongaku Overdrive presents a virtual concert on Twitch showcase to get us out the Gloom and back to the Golden Land of VGM! We will have a night of concerts and special videos submitted from fans and performers to help us raise money to recoup losses (about $3K) from our 10th Anniversary Show. There will also be donation goals with wild incentives and a prize raffle as well! Anything the VGM Community can do to help us get back on track will be greatly appreciated. Stay tuned for updates.

Musical Lineup

The Limit Breakers

The Limit Breakers are a 7-piece vgm fusion rock band based in Jacksonville, Fl, United States. The band seeks to break all of the vgm limits by fusing jazz, metal, rock, ska, and electronic elements into a highly energetic and positive show.

Ro Panuganti

Ro Panuganti is a Progressive Rock/Metal Musician from Raleigh NC, best known for his eclectic proggy albums based on Legend of Zelda, Undertale etc as well as producing VFX-heavy music videos. He has a passion for guitar, merging styles of Blues, Metal, Indian Fusion, and VGM. His works have been featured on Nickelodeon, smosh, indie games, and he’s produced over 15 of his own video game cover albums. Ro currently balances producing his metal works, freelance music video editing, IT work, and helping produce for his wife Allison Martin and the community.

Marc with a C

After 21 years of portraying a combustible persona to fit the often bizarre, psych-leaning, sometimes darkly humorous, usually emotionally devastating, minutiae-and-music-obsessed and lo-fi DIY records that Marc Sirdoreus created to find a way to bring these ideals to the stage, Marc shocked many by seeming to retire on camera, mid-show during a virtual record release show. After a brief intermission, Orlando music icon Marc with a C began Phase II of his music career, showing everyone who the real Marc Sirdoreus is, confronting most of his deepest fears and anxieties head first.

Mahn

Mahn returns to Ongaku Overdrive land with his Dark Glory™! Influenced by heavy metal, new and old, he’ll tug on your sense of nostalgia with plenty of homages to games from your formative years! You’ll also hear tracks off his latest album, “Mode 8”, a love letter to music from the Super Nintendo

String Player Gamer

Diwa de Leon, known as String Player Gamer, is a Filipino composer, music producer, violinist, and content creator born in the Philippines. After falling in love with the music of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past at age eleven, Diwa’s journey into video game music took root. Fast forward to the present, String Player Gamer is now a professional musician who aims to amplify his childhood nerd nostalgia into high quality, musical productions for everyone to enjoy.

Jackson Parodi

You’ve seen him at past Ongaku Overdrive events and maybe even on stage at MAGFest, Video Games Live, or Zeldathon. Jackson Parodi is the King of Accordion Style, weaving in his comedic timing and rapier wit with improvisational musical performance. Whether it’s on his Twitch broadcasts or at live events. But this time, Jackson will be playing piano! Jackson specializes in playing anything and even taking audience requests. In addition to performing music, Jackson enjoys sewing, baking, and professional wrestling.

Video Submissions

In-between performances, we will be playing short reflection videos from fans and performers in our awesome community. If you have some thought about Ongaku Overdrive that you would like to record and submit to be played on Tears of Ongaku, you can submit them here. Must be in by end of June 9th, 2023!

Donation Goals and Prizes

To encourage donations, we have some wild goals and prizes that you can win. Kent’s eyebrows (and butt) are on the line, baby!

VGM netlabel GameGrooves will gift 10 lucky donors each a digital GameGrooves album of their choice, and one super-lucky donor will get the entire GameGrooves digital discography.

Mustin of The OneUps sent us 17 physical albums, which includes The One Ups 20th Anniversary Vinyl. We divided that up into SIX album bundles. That’s over 20 years of quality VGM!

We have merch too! We’ll pick TWO lucky winners who will get one of every Ongaku Overdrive t-shirt we have in storage, in their size, plus a sweet snapback cap.

Every $10 you donate is a raffle entry. Everyone who has donated already will be included as well.
