On this weekend in 2013, we had the first official Ongaku Overdrive event at Taste in Orlando. Ongaku Overdrive is ELEVEN YEARS OLD!

Over the past year as we have developed a great relationship with Conduit and Free Play Florida. OngakuVania II and Black Materia Live were very important shows to us, and to finally host a VGM concert at a convention like Free Play Florida was a dream come true.

It’s thanks to the support you guys have given us over the years that has made all of this possible and help us continue to grow and thrive. We do have some excellent events coming up, and so everyone can plan ahead, here they are:

Warriors of Light II, a celebration of roleplaying game music, will take place on Saturday, July 27th at Conduit in Winter Park, Florida.

OngakuVania III, our VGM Halloween Party, will take place on Saturday, October 26th at Conduit in Winter Park, Florida.

Free Play Florida 2024’s Afterparty, which will feature live video game music, arcades, and pinball IN THE SAME ROOM, will take place on Saturday, November 23rd at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, Florida.

Before all that, we will have the Virtua Ongaku Pride Charity Show on Sunday, June 16th. This will be a virtual concert on our Twitch that will benefit the LGBTQ+ organization Zebra Youth. Performer applications are open until the end of April 30th! Apply here.

There will also be an watch party on Twitch for last year’s Free Play Florida Afterparty, featuring excellent performances from Lame Genie and Trash Burger. We might have FPF people in Ongaku HQ to cohost with me.  This will take place this Thursday, May 2nd at 8pm EST.

Lots of fun will be had, and the next year is going to be a rockin time. Can’t wait to party with you all again!
