Over $1000 raised at Moon Prism Pride!

We had a fantastic time at Anime Festival Orlando. We want to thank the convention for taking care of us and for giving us the opportunity to run their Friday night main event, Moon Prism Pride. It was a lot of fun rockin with you all and we hope you enjoyed the performances from Follow Me, Fox!, Tre Watson’s Jammingway, and Descendants of Erdrick.

In addition to their video game covers and songs about video games, each act brought their renditions of songs from beloved anime such as Inu-Yasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, and of course Sailor Moon. Definitely wanted to have something special for the AFO crowd.

One of the fun parts of the night was having local cosplayed and event host Ikou Jazzi as the emcee of Moon Prism Pride. Dressed as the Guardian of Love and Justice, Jazzi brought a fun energy to our show and appreciate that.

With June being Pride Month, we wanted to help out Zebra Youth, a great LGBTQ+ organization here in the greater Orlando area that does tremendous work in the community. We have supported them over the years with our virtual concerts on Twitch, but it was an honor to do that with an in-person show at AFO, and raise over $1000 during the weekend!

Zebra Youth’s Executive Director Andre “Dre” Molette was also in attendance and got to speak about the importance of the cause at our event, and we greatly appreciate him taking the time to do that.

Another cool thing that happened was the charity photobooth that Mistors PCs set up! We saw a lot of great pics and that was a pretty fun way to raise more money for Zebra Youth. Might have to do that again!

We will have a Watch Party on our Twitch soon to raise even more money for Zebra Youth. Look out for that on Tuesday, July 7th at 8pm EST. You don’t want to miss that!

Ongaku Overdrive is not done for the year. We have TWO shows announced. Colors Flying High: Celebrating 30 Years of Persona will be taking place on August 29th, and then on October 24th is our fifth annual OngakuVania Halloween Party. Both will be at Conduit in Winter Park, FL. The party doesn’t stop with us, so be sure to come out!
