 RSVP

Ongaku Overdrive proudly presents Virtua Ongaku XIII, live on our Twitch channel! Expect a fun night of video game music and other nerdy jams. Even with our return to live events, we will still have virtual concerts to showcase amazing acts you can’t see anywhere else. While the show is free to watch, we will be taking your donations to help pay the act performing on Virtua Ongaku XIII. When you donate, you will be entered into our prize raffle.

Musical Lineup

Lacey Johnson

The “Keytar Kween” Lacey Johnson has won over fans everywhere she has performed with high-energy renditions of video game music she has recreated in her style. Once a newcomer to the VGM community, she has now solidified her spot amongst the best performers we have had. Lacey creates near-weekly music videos on her YouTube channel, featuring tributes to Persona, Sonic the Hedgehog, Devil May Cry, Deltarune, Final Fantasy, and more. She recently released her first full-length album, The Midnight Channel.

Danimal Cannon

Danimal Cannon is a video game composer and chiptune rock artist. You may have heard him in video game bands Armcannon and Metroid Metal, but when Danimal goes solo, he shreds on stage with guitar and 8-bit tunes that he has composed and plays from a Nintendo Game Boy. Danimal Cannon has also composed music for video games such as Retromania Wrestling, Just Shapes & Beats, and Retro Racoons.

TeraCMusic

Prepare to hear some of your favorite videogame tracks in Tera’s performance! Her setlist consists of mostly RPG tracks such as Final Fantasy series, Chrono Cross, and Undertale. There will also be some sprinkling of Animal Crossing and Legend of Zelda too, of course. Let her violin and voice transport you to another world! Tera earned her first videogame credit in 2020, contributing vocals and violin for The Lord of the Rings Online (Update 27) and recently released her album Crossing Worlds: Music From Chrono Cross.

The Icarus Kid

Dan Crowdus is known as The Icarus Kid, an electronic dance producer, pianist, and music technologist. As a kid, the first music to really capture his soul came from games (especially Final Fantasy), and that love followed him into adulthood. Hailing from Los Angeles via Seattle, he is always looking for the next interesting way to combine his background in computer science with live music performance.

Joey Z

JOEY Z is a hip-hop artist from the Chicagoland area who makes cretinous music for the brave. Their music is a dark collection of LOUD, deeply personal feelings & observations combined with the nostalgic tones of retro video games. Focused on carving out an original sound for theirself, no one really sounds like JOEY Z.
