As a response to current events and an inability to safely and responsibly host live Ongaku Overdrive events, we will be taking the show online! For the foreseeable future, we will be having monthly concert streams on our Twitch with the first-ever Virtua Ongaku! We’ll have a fun night with four great acts that have played at our past events, plus we’ll have a prize raffle, with donations going to our acts!

Professor Shyguy
Professor Shyguy’s music can be best described as; high energy, chiptune-electro-rocking, 8-bit, epically vocalized, highly danceable, theatrical nerd-pop. Singing 50% about video games and the other 50% is anything from Space/Time to English Language gymnastics. He is recently known as the singer for Starring Star on the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball Super. You might have also heard him on Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon’s Podcast ‘the Indoor Kids’ or the Diamond Club podcast. He has also made theme songs for GuudeBoulderfist, This Week in Chiptune, PortsCenter, and more!
Jackson Parodi
You’ve seen him at past Ongaku Overdrive events and maybe even on stage at MAGFest, Video Games Live, or Zeldathon. Jackson Parodi is the King of Accordion Style, weaving in his comedic timing and rapier wit with improvisational musical performance. Whether it’s on his Twitch broadcasts or at live events. But this time, Jackson will be playing piano! Jackson specializes in playing anything and even taking audience requests. In addition to performing music, Jackson enjoys sewing, baking, and professional wrestling.
Lauren the Flute
Lauren Liebowitz, aka Lauren the Flute, has been part of the VGM scene as a flutist and vocalist since 2010. She leads The Returners, an Austin-based video game cover band that has performed at PAX Prime, PAX South, MAGFest, and of course our Warriors of Light event. She also records solo covers and has contributed to numerous collaborative projects over the years, she regularly appears as a guest with friend bands, and she’s an active member and community leader of Materia Community.
When not performing or recording music, Lauren spends her time baking cakes, telling stories, and streaming on Twitch. Lauren also holds an MFA in creative writing and has even published a few short stories.
Marc With a C
For two decades, Orlando-based indie pop singer-songwriter Marc With a C has devoted himself to making raw, lo-fi music about a hi-def world. Through countless original albums, EPs and live recordings, Marc With a C uses infectious melodies and salty language to tell the stories of a generation caught between the analog and digital worlds.
Prize Raffle
There will be a raffle around 10:00pm, before the final act. There will be six (6) drawings and each of those winners will be contacted by us and mailed prizes from our stash. Prizes will be unveiled in the near future. For every $5 donated to the event, will be an entry into the raffle. So if someone donates $25, that will be five raffle entries! These donations will be used to pay our performers for the evening.
