Ongaku Overdrive proudly presents the hottest concert stream of the Summer with Virtua Ongaku 14, live on Twitch channel! Expect a fun night of video game music and other nerdy jams. Even with our return to live events, we will still have virtual concerts to showcase amazing acts you can’t see anywhere else. While the show is free to watch, we will be taking your donations to help pay the act performing on VO14. When you donate, you will be entered into our prize raffle.

Musical Lineup

Descendants of Erdrick

Descendants of Erdrick is a progressive-metal band dedicated to re-imagining the soundtracks of classic video games, specializing in (but not limited to) tributes to the “epic” role-playing/adventure genre of games. Rock out to powerful renditions of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Secret of Mana, Act Raiser, Super Castlevania, and more!

Tiggs

Tiggs is a singer, audio engineer, and composer based in the Washington DC area. Her voice is in a variety of projects, including live and studio recorded performances for ConSoul, String Player Gamer, Materia Collective, and others. Her voice can be heard in video games such as SOLE and the upcoming Lost Soul Aside.

88bit

88bit is the alter ego of Cleveland-based pianist, Rob Kovacs, where he performs note-for-note piano arrangements of classic video game soundtracks from the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Kovacs’ performances are unique in that they recreate early electronic music that was never intended to be performed by humans, stretching the limits of traditional piano playing. 88it recently released a LoFi album of Super Mario 64 arrangements.

Super Smack & The P.O.P.

Super Smack is on a rapping, dancing, music-making journey to uplift anyone who’s ever felt underrepresented. The Filipino-American pop rap artist is known for his fully choreographed live shows, musical theatre influences, and his nerdy-and-fierce dancer-band, “Super Smack & The P.O.P.” Based in Phoenix, Arizona by way of New York City, Smack chose to become an artist to help folks from all backgrounds feel groovy, geeky, sexy, and ready to claim their spotlight.

The Koopa Kids

The Koopa Kids are a horn driven rock group hailing from the north shore of Boston, playing unique arrangements of their favorite video game music. They think, “Hey, what Bowser would want to hear?” when working on their repertoire. From the local scene to video game conventions, their in-your-face sound has gotten fans of VGM to pick it up and get down on the dance floor. Hail Bowser!
