Musical Lineup

Button Masher

As the leader of The Returners, she’s played at PAX, MAGFest, and Ongaku Overdrive; as herself, she performs music, streams games, and analyzes game narrative on Twitch and YouTube. She plays flute and sings to bring her favorite video game music to life.

He has a passion for guitar, merging styles of Blues, Metal, Indian Fusion, and VGM. Ro currently balances producing his metal works, freelance music video editing, IT work, and helping produce for his wife Allison Martin and the community. Ro Panuganti’s Prog Experience will be performing at the upcoming Super MAGFest!

JOEY Z64

Coming from the Chicagoland area & living in the Twin Cities, JOEY Z64 is a nonbinary rapper making music for people who think too hard about everything all the time. Their music is a dark collection of LOUD, deeply personal feelings, cutting observations, & viciously insightful reflections. Their new projects deconstruct their complicated relationship with art & nostalgia: filthy, brain-rotting nostalgia, congealed with grimy retro soundtracks that feel like it should be the background music for a Street Fighter 3: Third Strike combo video from 2008.

There’s nobody who sounds like JOEY Z64.

At the show, you’re probably gonna make eye contact with them. It’s gonna feel weirdly intimate & meaningful. People will be laughing a lot & you will be crying. You will have a new favorite rapper, & it will be terrifying

Audio Mocha

Hailing from Medellin, Colombia and coming to you live from Colorado, Audio Mocha is here to bring you your favorite video game tunes with a tropical twist! A solo project led by Daniel Mateo, Audio Mocha is focused on creating surf rock and Latin rock remixes of mostly Nintendo songs.

Audio Mocha has a ton of jammin’ tunes from games like Legend of Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles, Metroid, Super Mario, and more. So whether you want to headbang to tsunami-heavy surf punk or dance to some tropical beats, be sure to check out Audio Mocha’s set on Virtua Ongaku!

Jer Roque

Jer Roque is a pianist whose roots in the VGM community predate the turn of the century. He infuses elements of classical, jazz, pop, and rock into his playing. Current projects include streaming on Twitch three times a week and performing with the bands Playing With Power & Marshall Art.

In addition, Jer encourages the inclusion of video game music as part of a well-rounded music education by facilitating jam sessions and providing resources for educators & musicians of all kinds. He wants everyone to know that Chrono Trigger has the greatest video game music of all time, because it does.
