Ongaku Overdrive proudly presents Virtua Ongaku 12, our first LIVE concert stream of 2022 on our Twitch channel! Expect a fun night of video game music and other nerdy jams. Even with our return to live events, we will still have virtual concerts to showcase amazing acts you can’t see anywhere else. While the show is free to watch, we will be taking your donations to help pay the act performing on Virtua Ongaku 12. When you donate, you will be entered into our prize raffle.

Musical Lineup

Professor Shyguy

Professor Shyguy’s music can be best described as; high energy, chiptune-electro-rocking, 8-bit, epically vocalized, highly danceable, theatrical nerd-pop. Singing 50% about video games and the other 50% is anything from Space/Time to English Language gymnastics. He is recently known as the singer for Starring Star on the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball Super. You might have also heard him on Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon’s Podcast ‘the Indoor Kids’ or the Diamond Club podcast. He has also made theme songs for GuudeBoulderfist, This Week in Chiptune, PortsCenter, and more!

                  

LEX the Lexicon Artist

LEX the Lexicon Artist makes cerebral pop rap. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, fandom, and life experiences, LEX’s explosive and off-the-wall performances explore humanity, psychology, and belonging through an irreverent lens that is both self-absorbed and self-effacing. LEX aims to create smart and fun music that makes you think, party, and self-heal.

                

GR3YS0N

A unique artist to say the least, Brooklyn native now Bethlehem, PA resident GR3YS0N is blazing a trail in his own niche. Incorporating his passion for video games and anime he has developed a brand of music that goes over very well with a thus far untapped market. Uniting tech wiz’s with the culture of hiphop he has etched his name into the conversation of the Quaker State’s top acts. With his Gamer Not A Gangster motto, GR3YS0N is certainly acquiring fans and supporters one bar and performance at a time Not one to fear societal standards, GR3YS0N is a poster child for self esteem and individuality.

            

Doug Perry

Doug Perry is an internationally-renowned percussionist, composer, and educator. His technical skill and passion for performing new works transcends disciplines, making him a sought-after performer in the worlds of new music and video game scoring. Featured soloist performances include the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, and the Neue Eutiner Festspiele Orchestra. Doug frequently records and produces music for video games and film; he was featured as a soloist in the scores to Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and Sid Meyer’s Civilization VI, and can be heard in such titles as Mortal Kombat 11, Celeste, and Guild Wars 2. Doug is currently on music faculty at Western Connecticut State University, where he teaches multiple music courses,

            

Mark Cooper

Mark Cooper is a multi-disciplinary Rapper and Producer, carrying the torch of nerdcore hiphop from Detroit, Michigan. His branded work consists of a large body of verses and cyphers touching on all things considered “nerdy” or from gaming culture. His raps range cover Power Rangers, X-Men, Mortal Kombat, Halo, He-Man, Cobra Kai, and more, earning Mark Cooper the perfect branding of “nostalgic rap.”

Prize Raffle

There will be a raffle around 11:15pm, after the final act. There will be six (6) to seven (7) drawings and each of those winners will be contacted by us. Prizes will include albums from the Bandcamps of the Virtua Ongaku 12 acts, some cool items from our prize stash, and more. For every $5 donated to the event, will be an entry into the raffle. So if someone donates $25, that will be FIVE raffle entries! These donations will help pay the acts performing.
