Halloween is a month-long holiday in Orlando, and by popular demand, Ongaku Overdrive is finally hosting our first-ever Halloween show! That means live video game music, costumes, game setups, themed drinks, art, prizes, and more. OngakuVania will take place at The Abbey in downtown Orlando, FL on October 15th and we guarantee that it won’t be a horrible night to have a curse!

Music Lineup

The Megas

The Megas are a Los Angeles based band who are best known for their synth rock anthems inspired by the Mega Man and Castlevania video game series. They’ve been a staple of the video game music scene since the mid-2000s, performing at festivals and conventions all over the country, including MAGFest, Bit Gen, TooManyGames, the San Diego Comic Con and more. What sets The Megas apart is their lyrical storytelling which weaves seamlessly with their interpretations of the original video game themes.

                  

Ben Briggs

Ben Briggs is a full-time musician, entertainer, and DJ with over a decade of experience; widely known for remixing video game music. s the co-owner of Tiny Waves and a veteran contributor to the chiptune & video game music scene, he has quickly become a key influencer in the industry with countless successful events and music releases. Beloved for his electronic dance music with strong chiptune influence, he delivers a high-energy performance full of positive energy and LOTS of dancing. Dedicated to “making the fun happen”, Ben believes it is his purpose to remove people from the stress of their daily lives with music.

                          

Trash Burger

Trash Burger mashes video games of yore and other nostalgia into a stream-of-consciousness auditory feast! Ashlea, Brian, Stevie (from Under Polaris) and David (from Random Encounter, Select Start) not only play tracks beloved by the video game music community, but also dig deep into the musty VGM archives – whatever makes them happy. Share in the love of games and rock music. Go on, do it. Take bite of the Trash Burger.

The Limit Breakers

Based in Jacksonville, Florida, The Limit Breakers are a video game tribute band that performs in many different styles from rock to pop, jazz fusion to electronic and everything in between. The Limit Breakers are a new band, and this will be their first concert performance!

Drink Specials

The Abbey has a full bar with beer, wine, and liquor; but if you want something really special, they will have Castlevania-themed cocktails as well. Try them all!


Prize Raffles

We have a variety of cool prizes to raffle at OngakuVania Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the Ongaku Overdrive Merch Table and sessions will take place in-between our music performances. You must be present when your ticket number is called in order to win prizes.


Parking

There are a variety of parking lots and garages within short walking distance from The Abbey. Prices will vary. The most convenient option is The Abbey’s valet parking that will be located in front of the venue during the event. Valet parking is $15. We also recommend arriving early due to Orlando Pride taking place the same day at Lake Eola.

COVID-19 Policy

At the current time, Orange County does not have an indoor mask mandate; however, masks are still highly encouraged inside The Abbey to prevent the spread of COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccination, including booster, is highly recommended. If you are not feeling well or have been exposed to COVID-19, please stay at home.
