This Sunday is Virtua Onagku 16, LIVE on twitch.tv/ongakuoverdrive. We’ll be showcasing VGM and nerdcore acts from around the hemisphere. Yeah, you read that right! Virtua Ongaku is a concert series you can enjoy from the comfort of your home and you don’t even put on pants.

We love going international on Virtua Ongaku, and Pokerus Project from Chile is going to bring a very powerful performance. They recently celebrated their 10th anniversary and have been repping South American VGM hard. Their arrangements go from super chill lo fi tunes to some absolutely mind-bending progressive metal versions from a wide variety of video game tunes.

Domestically, we have Obi-Wan Shinobi, who just performed a killer DJ set on MAGFest’s main stage last month. Plus, Abandon Quest from Minneapolis, O_Super from central Florida, and Ian Cowell from Oakland. Each act on our lineup brings something unique and that’s how we like it on Virtua Ongaku.

Ian Cowell will be one to watch out for. He’s been on various other virtual concert streams, but not ours! As a purveyor of the Dorkly Arts, Ian’s music ranges from guitar shreds to funky synthesizer-heavy takes on VGM classics and deep cuts alike.

In addition to music, there will be a prize raffle at the end of the show. Everyone who donates to help pay the performers will be entered in. Virtua Ongaku 16 takes place on Sunday, February 26th and the stream will start at 6:00pm EST.
