Last spring, we had ONGAKU 20XX: Wily’s Revenge at The Abbey in Orlando, FL. It was a grand time. All the performances were filmed. Thanks to Alyssa Kalugdan and Peter Gillete, they were all edited and ready to view on our YouTube!
ONGAKU 20XX opened up with the first-ever live show of Orlando’s own Trash Burger. They have performed live several times since, and we will definitely have them back again.
The OneUps are one of the most legendary and longest-active video game bands in the world. We’ve wanted them for a long time, and it was an honor to have them at ONGAKU 20XX.
We had Lame Genie on a couple of our Virtua Ongaku concerts on Twitch, and they killed it each time and became an act that fans wanted to see live in Orlando. They almost didn’t make it with how screwed up airlines were at the time! Not only was this Lame Genie’s first time performing in Orlando, but this show debuted their song selection technology where the fans pick the songs they play.
Our last show before the pandemic hit was headlined by Bit Brigade, so it was special to have them back, performing their incredible speedrun concert on Mega Man 2. These guys make it look so easy, but they put in a lot of work to make these shows happen. Check out the recent Bit Brigade episode of Nerd Music Meltdown to find out more about their process.
We plan to film more shows and put them on YouTube, so please give our channel a follow. If you want to help us upgrade equipment or cover the production costs to do that, subscribe to our Patreon!
