Our next online concert, Virtua Ongaku 2, will take place on Saturday, July 25th on the OngakuOverdrive Twitch channel! We’ll have a night of live VGM and nerdcore with an incredible lineup! Here is a little preview of the acts:
Steven Strums
Steven Poissant, known as one half of Super Guitar Bros, had a simple idea: “What if I could make a drum set out of sounds I make on my guitar?” And thus, Steven Strums was born.
A cool blend of chill acoustic guitar mixed in with *ridiculously heavy metal acoustic shredding* that no one knew they needed until now.
EyeQ
EyeQ has played from everywhere from PAX to MAGFest and is the first nerdcore hip hop artist to perform at the Library of Congress. He also founded Bytes & Beats, a tour that blends anime and hip hop at major conventions such as Otakon and MomoCon. EyeQ’s musical stylings come from the soul, and while he broke out with an Attack on Titan EP named Walls of Maria, he is currently working on an Anita Baker tribute in the form of three EPs. Live and Love are out now.
Lacey Johnson
Lacey Johnson is a newcomer in the VGM Community, but is already making waves. She produces weekly video game covers on her YouTube channel where she is the sole musician, arranger, and engineer. Whether she’s rocking out to a Devil May Cry cover or chilling at Seaside Kingdom, Lacey always looks like she’s having an absolute blast. Her exuberance is infectious, and it’s easy to see why so many people enjoy her music. She can also be seen touring the country with her Nintendo heavy metal band Super MadNES. Lacey has shown the world how cool the keytar can be. This “Keytar Kween” often performs solo sets on Twitch as well as live shows.
Crunk Witch
Crunk Witch is an electro-pop duo from Presque Isle, ME. The band was formed in 2009 by married couple Brandon Miles and Hannah Colleen. Their music blends pop, rock, and various electronic genres. Many of their lyrics are set in a science fiction reality and involve themes of adventure and romance. In the past, the duo has performed at events such as SXSW, PAX East, and a variety of other venues across the U.S. Crunk Witch has released four full-length albums, including their 2018 self-titled release, and sold over 30k albums and singles worldwide.They have recently written and produced the theme song for the Nintendo Switch game Battlesloths.
