We got a MAGFest Panel

Next week is the start of a new year, which means it is time for Super MAGFest! This event is the biggest when it comes to video game music, nerdcore, and chiptune. Plus it’s almost 4 days straight of games, music, parties, and friends.

But did you know that MAGFest has a ton of excellent panel programming? It’s true, and this year, we are a part of it, with a fun and interesting subject we know well.

Running you own Local Concerts while Having Fun
Thursday, January 2nd, 2020  from 8:30pm to 9:30pm
Panels 3 (Woodrow Wilson Ballroom)

Kent Ward has run Ongaku Overdrive out of Orlando, FL since 2013 and has organized and promoted concerts from dozens of attendees to hundreds and now wants to share the knowledge of what it takes to run concerts in your hometown. This includes booking venues and acts, promoting, community building, budgeting, and staying relatively sane while doing all of this.

A lot of knowledge to get crammed into an hour, but Kent will do his best to make sure that you can get started when you get back home. We’ll even show actual performer and venue contracts, budget sheets, tech riders, and other things that aren’t really glamorous but need to be done to make sure our shows end up as a success.
