Orlando Overdrive IV, taking place June 8th at The Geek Easy. will showcase Orlando’s best nerd music acts as well as our thriving indie game dev community. We’ve announced EyeQ, Jackson Parodi, Geekapella, Under Polaris, and Mag.Lo. Plus, our first batch of indie games were announced last night.

Now, would it be Orlando Overdrive if we left out Marc with a C and Ben Briggs? Well, you guys decided in our recent polls. Most of you know them all-too-well, but for new fans, here’s the skinny on both.

Marc with a C is an icon of independent music in Orlando and broke into our scene at the very first Nerdapalooza in Orlando. Eventually, we would come to exist and start having Marc on our shows as well. Marc has been making music for over 20 years, with the critically acclaimed Obscurity as his most recent album.

Marc won our Patreon poll. He also won our public poll, but we’re only booking him once.

Marc with a C was on the initial nomination ballot for the 61st annual Grammys for Best Music Video with the single “One Of These Are Gonna Be Your Day.” We look forward to having Marc on the show and he’s bringing his band with him too!

After Marc with a C, Ben Briggs got the most votes in the public poll. He played on the very first Ongaku Overdrive and is known as the father (or daddy?) of the EDM/VGM netlabel known as Tiny Waves, and has been spending much of his time on growing that group.

When he isn’t producing Tiny Waves’ events and albums, he has been also making music for the popular YouTube series The Completionist. Most recently, Ben has been reminding everyone that he he is still a powerhouse when it comes to killer video game remixes.

We promised you eight amazing acts for Orlando Overdrive IV and we delivered. Now the rest is up to you. This show will only succeed with your support. Tickets are still available and we would like to pack The Geek Easy. And if we do, that very much benefits each act and helps the event grow.
